MOL Cruises, Ltd. announced the official naming of MITSUI OCEAN FUJI at a Tokyo Bay ceremony. Senko Ikenobo, first woman appointed Headmaster Designate of the Ikenobo School, presided, joined by CEO Tsunemichi Mukai and Captain Kim Karlsson wishing the ship 'fair winds and following seas,' with a ceremonial sake bottle released against the hull. An ikebana arrangement by Senshu Ikenobo (Senko's son) symbolized harmony between humans and nature. Sister ship Nippon Maru was in port; both vessels exchanged three-horn salutes honoring the 'Mitsui' three-bars motif. The 32,477-ton, 458-guest ship features luxury suites, four dining venues (incl. partnership with Chef Kiyomi Mikuni), spa/wellness, entertainment, and shore excursions. Debut cruises began December 2024 with sailings scheduled through 2025.
