Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. purchased a second luxury cruise ship from Seabourn (currently Seabourn Sojourn, 32,477 tons) to expand the fleet. It will be rebranded, refurbished, re-flagged Japanese, and enter service in late 2026, following the December 2024 launch of MITSUI OCEAN FUJI. President Tsunemichi Mukai noted positive guest response to FUJI's suites, food, and entertainment. The new ship will carry 458 passengers across 229 suites with four restaurants, operating domestic Sea of Japan itineraries focused on smaller ports for intimate cultural experiences. Name, refurbishment details, and itineraries to be announced later; existing FUJI and NIPPON MARU sailings unaffected.
