Plan to arrive with plenty of time to reach the port, complete check-in formalities, and settle into your suite. In the evening, enjoy your first views of the city lights from the ship as you prepare for the voyage ahead.
Day 2 · Aug 24
Enjoy a relaxing day at sea as the MITSUI OCEAN FUJI sails between ports. This is the perfect time to explore the ship’s amenities, from pools and lounges to enrichment programs, entertainment, and quiet corners with ocean views. You can move at your own pace—sleep in, linger over meals, or join scheduled activities that match your interests. Take advantage of the open decks for fresh air and sea views, and allow time simply to unwind and recharge.

Tomonoura is a picturesque port town along the Seto Inland Sea, known for its historic harbor, traditional wooden buildings, and calm waters dotted with fishing boats. Beppu is one of Japan’s most famous hot spring towns, celebrated for its dramatic steam vents, mineral-rich baths, and unique geothermal landscapes. Spend the day exploring the “hells” of Beppu, where colorful pools and bubbling mud showcase the region’s volcanic power. You can also relax in a traditional onsen, try sand or mud baths, or simply enjoy the town’s nostalgic streets and local eateries. Remember to follow onsen etiquette and bring a small towel and easy-to-remove footwear.
