[October 22, 2024, Tokyo, Japan] – MOL Cruises, Ltd. [Tsunemichi Mukai – President]: The most experienced cruise line in Japan, MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES, today unveiled the entertainment lineup for its new ship, MITSUI OCEAN FUJI, filled with uplifting music, theater, comedy, dance, games and enrichment.

 

Bringing “FUNATABI – Beautiful Encounters with Japan” together with contemporary-style performances, an abundant array of engaging activities come to life when the luxury, all-suite MITSUI OCEAN FUJI debuts Dec. 1, including:

 

The Heart of the Entertainment Experience at OCEAN STAGE:

OCEAN STAGE, the multi-function venue is home to Broadway-style production shows, performed by world-class singers and dancers. Superbly produced 45-minute shows will wow guests with exquisite choreography, dazzling costumes and unforgettable musical scores, produced by the legendary Belinda King, renowned for creating award-winning shows at sea:

  • La Danza – An international dance show celebrating the art of dance, featuring the fire and passion of the Paso Doble, the beauty of the Viennese Waltz, world-class Ballroom and Latin, upbeat Jive and ethereal Contemporary.

  • The Midnight Hour – OCEAN STAGE becomes an evening in Chicago with Elvis Presley, Peggy Lee, Bill Paul and Booker T, all featured in this cool, sophisticated retrospective – including iconic songs that everyone knows and loves.

  • Amour – A romantic adventure in the world of Love Songs, where the cast takes the audience on a journey through a compilation of the celebrated compositions which pull at the heartstrings. From Stevie Wonder to Michael Bublé, Amour is upbeat, fun and entertaining!

 

FUNATABI – Beautiful Encounters with Japan

Keeping the traditions of Japan alive, MITSUI OCEAN FUJI will present authentic experiences showcasing the local culture to enhance “Funatabi” moments, including:

  • Rakugo – the art of Japanese comic storytelling from a comedic solo performance as the main show, storytelling classes, meet and greets with the Rakugo performer, an improv variety show with guests and crew, and dancing.

  • Arts & Crafts – hands-on classes featuring various Japanese traditional craft making.

  • Curated Japanese Book Collection – specially selected for guests to learn more about local culture.

  • Local Enrichment special lectures on Japanese literature, art, history and nature related to the ports of call.

 

Musical Harmony

From violinists to piano players, music will fill the decks with jazz quartets, duos, and solo guitarists offering a pleasant backdrop or main performance for guests to enjoy at various venues, day and night.

 

Theme Nights, Sailaway Celebrations & Deck Parties

Guests who like to dress up for a fun theme night will enjoy Funatabi Night, where guests are encouraged to dress in Japan-inspired fashion, indulge in Japanese cuisine and take in a Rakugo Show. Disco Night also showcases the uplifting genre of dance music, while guests show off the sparkling fashions of the era. Additionally, Sailaway Celebrations and Deck Parties encourage spirited fun on each voyage.


Cruise Ship Trivia from Crew Members

Presentations from various onboard departments from navigation, engineering, hotel services and culinary share trivia about their areas of expertise and showcase a “Who’s Who” game where guests meet the crew.


Guests Get in On the Fun

Guests can get into the action with Karaoke, Zumba and dance classes, Bingo, trivia, game shows, movies, cooking and cocktail-making demonstrations, golf putting and ping pong tournaments.

The 458-guest, 32,477-ton MITSUI OCEAN FUJI will debut in Yokohama on December 1, 2024, as Japan's most luxurious all-suite cruise ship with and spacious passenger venues, traditional omotenashi service, delicately flavored and beautifully presented cuisine, lively entertainment and exciting ports of call. The ship will sail on inspiring voyages celebrating the blue ocean and Japan’s awesome natural beauty.

 

On sale now, the inaugural season offers a series of Debut Cruises (December 2024-January 2025), including a special New Year’s sailing; Spring and Golden Week Cruises (April-May 2025); and a 66-day Grand Asia Cruise (May-July 2025).
